Haddonfield School of
Performing Arts

HSPA, a non-profit community music school, was founded in 1981 by a group of area musicians, music educators and interested citizens to provide comprehensive music instruction for children and adults. It is located in the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Road, Haddonfield, NJ.

The curriculum includes private one-on-one lessons in voice and all major instruments, and Early Childhood Music Programs including classes for children ages birth through 10. There are also classes in music theory, music history, sight singing and drama, and special summer sessions.

Dr. Karen Hagerman is the Executive Director. Faculty members, all active performers, are graduates of major music conservatories and universities. Many have completed additional training in specialized fields, e.g. Suzuki, Musik Garten, and Kindermusik. As teachers their experience and enthusiasm provide students with a quality musical education.

HSPA offers all persons equal access and opportunities to participate in its services, programs and activities. Each year funds are appropriated by the Board of Trustees to assist students who are unable to afford the total cost of their music lessons and related classes. Every student is encouraged to participate in the performing opportunities HSPA gives to its students.
