THEOS AND HUMC

New Design for Grief Recovery Program

HUMC sponsors a two-part program to assist the community in coping with grief and life after a loved one dies. The THEOS Moving On Social Group meets the second Thursday monthly at 7:30 pm in Felten Parlor. Most of the members have been widowed several years and want to learn how to "move on" without a spouse. Widowed men and women are cordially invited. The meetings include conversation and mutual support. Plans are made for social activities and future programs.

The Rev. Kathleen Bohren Morris, Chaplain with Salem County Hospice and author of Grief, a Journey to Wholeness, will be leading an eight-week Bereavement Support Group from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in Felten Parlor at HUMC beginning on Tuesday, April 16th and ending June 4th. Persons who have experienced the loss of a spouse, child, parent, sibling or friend within the past two years are welcome. The group will focus on the basics of the grieving process, children and the grieving process, help for the holidays, anniversaries, and finding support within your family and community and understanding expectations others have of those who are bereaved. There is no fee, please call the church office to register or for more information (856/429-0403).
